Ireland’s Department of Finance has announced an extension to its reduced VAT rate

On 12 May 2022, Minister Donohoe from the Department of Finance announced an extension to the 9% VAT rate reduction for the tourism and hospitality sectors for a further six months until 28 February 2023.

The extension will include the same goods and services from the original VAT announcement, covering tourist accommodation, cinemas, theatres, museums, historic houses, amusement parks, restaurant supplies, hairdressing, and certain types of printed materials.
