Becoming a member of the Tax Knowledge Team
We have an open position for a Tax Operations & Knowledge Specialist in Blue dot’s Tax Team. As the title suggests, it a broad role with different responsibilities and therefore especially of interest for current Big 4 indirect tax advisors that would like to go past delivering the memo to a client, but actually work in detail on designing and implementing solutions that help our clients to improve the quality and efficiency of their processes. You will be in direct contact with the clients and are expected to manage your own projects, taking into account both the tax compliance and commercial value.
The Tax Team is touching many of the key processes and solution capabilities within Blue dot and is acting as the interface between the legal requirements and solution settings, content and knowledge development within the organization. One of the key responsibilities will be to keep our system settings up-to-date…. globally. Also, you will be closely involved in the onboarding process of new clients, understanding their requirements and properly configure these in the solution and ensuring the expected value from the solutions is delivered to these clients.
The tax team is a diverse team, with different nationalities. The place of work for this position is flexible to a certain extent, although it has our preference to have someone joining our Dutch office, which is located on a short bike or tram ride from Amsterdam or to work from Warsaw (Poland), where the other part of the team sits. We do facilitate the relocation of foreign applicants to the Netherlands.
The position allows you to develop and further enrich your experience in the field of tax technology and legal tax systems globally, while working directly with some of the biggest companies globally
1. Onboarding new clients
Understand the global footprint of the client and their supply-chain model
Understand the client’s finance and tax process
Manage the project of onboarding these new clients to our solutions with the required level of customization
2. Onboarding and maintaining countries
Collect the local legal requirements for our developers to add new countries to our solutions.
Track legal updates for our currently supported countries and define the requirements for our developers to make the required changes to the system
Understand and be able to explain more complex concepts such as e-invoicing requirements to our developers and be closely involved in testing new features.
3. Sales support
Act as the subject matter expert during new business opportunities.
Support on creating articles, blogposts and webinars from a tax content perspective.
4. Client support
Assist our account managers on answering more complex tax-oriented questions from our existing clients
Support clients in their system customization to increase the value they are getting from the system
Brain-storm on the requirements for new features requested by clients
Support in the onboarding from a tax knowledge perspective of new employees
Support in keeping the internal country specific tax documentation up-to-date
Professional Tax advisor experience in one of the Big 4 or a similar professional firm;
Minimum of two years of relevant working in experience in EU VAT / Indirect taxation;
Educational level: minimum Bachelor or equivalent, or a very specific relevant working experience
Language: Proficient in English. Candidates with proficient French or German language skills will be accelerated in the interview process.
Personal Skills set: multi-tasker; pro-active; an eye for detail; ability to communicate in a professional corporate business manner; self-starter; natural drive for process improvement; not afraid to reach out to new business contacts / third parties by phone; take pride in closing a process to the end; taking ownership.
