Netherlands – EU VAT Refund Portal Migration

The Blue dot Team

The Dutch Tax administration is moving the current separate EU VAT Refund (EVR) portal to the general Tax platform (“Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk”), which will consolidate the EU VAT refund application process under one umbrella with the tax payer’s general tax portal including already VAT, Wage tax, CIT and other online tax reporting.

It was announced that the migration would happen at the start of Q2 2026, however this has been delayed. The Dutch tax authorities can’t confirm when the migration will actually be completed.

Current status

  • Legacy EVR portal still in use
  • Separate login details required (username + password)

Future status

  • EVR to be integrated in the tax payer’s general tax environment
  • Certified login procedure required.
  • Re-assign the delegation to your 3rd party VAT refund provider.
  • Double check if your NACE code is up-to-date.

Interim:

As long as the legacy EVR portal is in active, you can continue to submit your claims.

Important

As soon as the migration is completed, then don’t forget to re-assign the delegation to your VAT refund provided in order to not miss the September 30th deadline.
