Amid soaring food and energy prices, Bulgaria announces a proposal to reduce the VAT rate from 20% to 0%. The reduced rate will apply to basic food products and beverages, water, natural gas, electricity and central heating for households.
Once the proposal is passed, the reduced rate will be in effect from 1 April 2022.
